Is your project in need of rescue?

How to select residential land and build a property in Spain

We are seeing a growing interest in building a luxury villa on the Costa del Sol from “normal” property buyers struggling to find what they want to buy due to lack of stock. Following the pandemic, the real estate market has been responding to pent up demand for properties, and luxury villas in good areas are increasingly hard to find. On larger, more complex projects such as large developments, residential complexes or hotels, there are even more things to consider and the impact of one unwelcome surprise can be enormous.

Should I Import Materials and Staff for my Project?

This inflation has definitely hit the construction industry hard. We have seen not only price increases, but also a change in the way of working from the construction companies. Previously, there would be a bidding process and client and construction company would agree a price, with a “fixed” guarantee for between 6 and 12 months. Now, we are rarely seeing a builder offering a fixed price for a project.

Memories from moving to Spain in 1964

MDCI’s Founder and CEO Mark Lawson moved to Nerja on the Costa del Sol with his family in 1964. Aged just 5 years old, he joined his parents to make their dream come true – living in the sun and building and running a small hotel.
